Job summary

Applied Intuition is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and integrate autonomy systems across hardware and software domains. You will deploy autonomy algorithms in SIL, HIL and live tests, interfacing with sensors and avionics, and collaborating with defense and commercial teams.

The role emphasizes hands‑on robotics integration, embedded Linux platforms, and robust hardware‑software pipelines. Some remote work may be possible, with a primary in‑office expectation in Sunnyvale, CA.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Robotics, Computer Science or related engineering field.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with robotic systems (hardware, software, integration).
• Experience with C++ programming and embedded Linux environments.
• Experience integrating autonomy products with Pixhawk (ArduPilot and/or PX4).
• Familiarity with UART/RS232/RS422/RS485, SPI/QSPI, I2C, Ethernet.
• Experience Docker, containerized deployments and Linux systems (RHEL/Ubuntu).
• Experience using Git, VS Code, GitLab; safety‑critical, SIL/HIL familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and develop modular autonomy capabilities across defense challenges.
• Integrate autonomy onto embedded Linux and hardware platforms with sensors.
• Troubleshoot complex integration and software issues for reliability.
• Integrate autonomy software with aircraft autopilots, datalinks, PNT/GPS/INS, GCS.
