Job summary

Amazon's Forward Deployed Engineering team seeks a motivated FDE II to embed with a strategic enterprise customer, designing, building, deploying, and operating AI-powered production systems alongside the customer's engineers. This role emphasizes production-grade software, end-to-end AI workstreams, and mentoring peers to deliver measurable customer outcomes.

Travel 30-50% and TS/SCI with Polygraph are required.

Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
2+ years in Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environments.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Experience with agentic and spec-driven development (AI agents a plus).
Experience with AI tools: eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
Current TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

Embed within customer engineering teams to understand business value.
Design, develop, and run production AI applications and workflows.
Own the full software lifecycle, from scoping to operations, including monitoring.
Mentor and train teammates on best practices.
Assist in accelerating customer adoption of AI solutions.
