Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer II to embed with enterprise customers, designing, building, and running AI-powered production systems. You will own delivery end-to-end, including requirements, design, and production deployment, while mentoring teammates and expanding AI adoption.

Travel 30–50% may be required. Applicants must have TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and a strong background in software development within dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 2+ years in Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment
• Experience communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with agentic and spec-driven development (AI agents a plus)
• Experience with AI tools: eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Responsibilities

• Embed within customer engineering teams.
• Translate customer requirements into technical designs for AI-enabled production systems.
• Build production AI applications.
• Design and develop production-grade software powering AI workflows.
• Own production for your workstream and oversee end-to-end lifecycle.
