Job summary

NegotiateAI, backed by Menlo Ventures, is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with early customers. You will embed with procurement and IT teams, map spend flows, and build production-grade integrations across SAP, Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, NetSuite and data warehouses.

You will own code from day one, ship solutions, and drive measurable savings. You will design and instrument success metrics, develop robust data pipelines, and defend your work with data-driven validation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems end to end.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production: agentic workflows, tool use, retrieval, structured outputs, evaluation.
• Strong backend and integration skills. API design, data pipelines, working with imperfect documentation.
• Experience shipping with messy real-world data: cleaning, normalization, entity resolution, establishing ground truth.

Responsibilities

• Embed with customer procurement and IT teams to map how spend flows: intake, approvals, category taxonomies, supplier master data, and savings locations.
• Define crisp success metrics with the customer before you build and instrument them.
• Build integrations into customer systems: SAP, Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, NetSuite, data warehouses, SSO, and transfer methods.
• Convert raw spend extracts into a working pipeline: entity resolution on suppliers, part identifier normalization, category mapping.
• Model customer spend in ClickHouse to support fast queries as data scales.
• Customize per-deployment workflows: retrieval sources, tools, prompts, and guardrails for reliability.
• Create per-customer evals against their data to prove accuracy and detect regressions.
• Drive adoption: run trainings, write runbooks, hand off durable artifacts to champions.
