Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corp. in Detroit seeks a Software Manager to lead an engineering team delivering embedded software for ADAS, IVI, Connected Gateway, and industrial segments, with emphasis on edge AI, vision analytics, video pipelines, graphics, connectivity, and AI compute acceleration on Renesas SoC platforms.

The successful candidate will mentor embedded software and application engineers, drive PoCs and reference designs, and collaborate with product, marketing, sales, FAE, and customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI/ML, Robotics, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of embedded software development experience, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++.
• Solid understanding of embedded Linux and/or FreeRTOS.
• Experience deploying AI/ML workloads on edge devices is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of embedded software engineers and application engineers for HPC/HSBD SoC-based solutions in automotive and industrial markets.
• Define technical direction for AI-focused software solutions: edge AI inference, vision analytics, video pipelines, camera processing, graphics acceleration, connectivity, and AI compute optimization.
• Support system-level software for ADAS, IVI, Connected Gateway, robotics, factory automation, data center edge, and other industrial apps.
• Drive concept-to-product migration with product mgmt, hardware teams, SW architecture, and customer-facing engineers.
• Develop and oversee PoCs, demos, reference designs, and evaluation platforms.
