ilsc is hiring an ELS Substitute Associate Instructor in Philadelphia, PA. The instructor will be responsible for planning and teaching ESL classes, mainly to adult students, and fulfilling various administrative duties. Candidates are expected to have at least a Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field, along with a minimum of 6 months of ESL teaching experience.
This position offers a flexible pay range of $23.50 to $30.75 hourly. Applicants should be prepared to manage classroom environments conducive to learning and assist fellow instructors.
Job Title: ELS Substitute Associate Instructor
Reporting to: Academic Director
Location: Philadelphia, PA
The ESL Substitute Associate Instructor is responsible for planning, teaching, and evaluating assigned classes in accordance with the ELS curriculum, mainly to adult students, with assistance from the AD, Instructional Specialists, and Senior Instructors; for maintaining student class records; for fulfilling administrative duties as required and/or requested by the AD; and for participating in professional development activities such as workshops, meetings, and assisting Instructors.
Bachelor's or better in English or related field.
Certificate or better in CELTA or related field.
Certificate or better in TESOL or related field.
Master's or better in Applied Linguistics or related field.
Master's or better in TESOL or related field.
$23.50 - $30.75 per hour
A minimum of 6 months of ESL teaching experience for those who do not have an MA in TESOL or CELTA.
All ELS employees must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Preferred: Qualifying Certificate or better.
Preferred: Qualifying Master’s or better.
