Job summary

New Albany-Plain Local Schools is seeking an ELL Educational Assistant at New Albany Primary School to support English Language Learners across the building, under the direction of principals and designee.

The role involves small group instruction, data collection, interpretation/translation support for meetings, and collaboration with EL teachers and school staff to ensure non-native speakers receive needed services.

Qualifications

• Must hold Ohio Educational Aide Permit or show progress toward one.
• Experience with English Language Learners preferred.
• Experience with small-group instruction and EL students.
• Able to work independently and with teachers to support EL students.
• Assist with parent meetings and interpretation as needed.
• Fully supported by building administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist Instructional Support for EL students under EL staff direction.
• Collaborate with EL teachers to provide academic support.
• Collect and maintain data for instructional support.
• Supervise small-group testing/breaks for students.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Interpret/translate for parent meetings and communications.
