Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District seeks an Instructional Assistant to support ESL and general education students at Alhambra High School. You will assist teachers with lesson plans, monitor student activity, and provide targeted tutoring in small groups.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and some classroom experience. The role requires on-site work within a 9-month calendar, with placement dependent on experience and education and a starting hourly rate of $17.11–$17.89.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and some classroom experience or equivalent education.
• Ability to prepare and implement concise lesson plans and materials.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional plans and materials under teacher direction.
• Monitor students and assist with assignments; provide tutoring in small groups.
• Help prepare lesson materials and ensure supplies are available and used properly.
• Assist with test administration and recordkeeping of student progress.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional interaction with staff, students, and families.
