Job summary

Wonder's Infinite Kitchen backend team is seeking a Software Engineer to build and maintain the brains of our automated restaurants. You will design and implement mission-critical Elixir applications that orchestrate the lifecycle of customer orders and coordinate a fleet of connected robotic systems across the country.

You will work with Elixir and the Phoenix framework to deliver real-time distributed systems, collaborating with frontend, robotics, and QA engineers to ship features that impact

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and database design.
• Real-time communication and event-driven architecture expertise.
• Experience with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Pragmatic, reliable problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate the Kitchen: Develop Elixir applications that manage order processing and real-time events.
• Produce high quality software with exceptional uptime for Infinite Kitchen products.
• Bridge cloud and hardware via robust APIs and WebSocket protocols.
• Manage and optimize Postgres databases for accurate, low-latency ordering.
• Design and implement complex business logic including prioritization and store-level resources.
• Participate in on-call rotations as part of standard engineering duties.
