Job summary

Burford’s Construction is seeking a Trimmer A to perform climbing, pruning, and removal tasks with emphasis on safety and efficiency. The role involves operating or assisting with bucket trucks, chainsaws, and chippers in vegetation management across multiple sites, including storm response.

You will work in environments near energized conductors, require physically demanding labor, and may travel to various locations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensure safety as a top priority and promote a safety-conscious work environment.
Demonstrate trustworthiness and responsibility in all job activities.
Understand proper pruning techniques, including natural and directional pruning for emergencies.
Possess requirements for lower climber classifications.
Climb trees near energized lines and perform maintenance tasks safely.
Remove overhangs with appropriate assistance and prune around energized conductors.
Use bucket, if available, to perform tasks.
Assist in on-the-job training of less experienced climbers and bucket operators.
Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment used in tree care operations (bucket trucks, chainsaws, chippers).
Exhibit sound judgment in day-to-day work and join storm restoration efforts as needed.
