Job summary

Robert Morris University seeks an Assistant Coach to support the Head Coach in program management, player development, and recruitment within a Division I NCAA environment. The role includes on-field instruction, game planning, and mentoring student-athletes to uphold academic integrity and compliance.

The candidate will lead skill sessions, assist with scouting, use performance analytics, coordinate travel, and oversee camps and clinics to build a championship culture at RMU.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2–3 years of collegiate softball coaching experience or elite playing experience (NCAA Division I preferred).
• Proven ability to teach advanced on-field skills (hitting, pitching, defense) and navigate Division I recruiting; knowledge of modern softball analytics is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily skill-development sessions and practices, focusing on a specific area (e.g., pitching, hitting, defense).
• Assist Head Coach with scouting, game planning, and real-time adjustments during games.
• Utilize softball analytics tools to analyze performance and scout opponents.
• Recruit elite prospects through travel to tournaments and showcases.
• Coordinate team travel, meals, lodging, and practice times on the road.
• Manage equipment, budget, and coordinate gear orders with sponsors.
• Plan, market, and direct youth camps and clinics to support program revenue.
