Job summary

Robert Morris University seeks a dedicated Softball Coach to manage the intercollegiate program in line with NCAA, Horizon League, and RMU guidelines. You will develop student-athletes through coaching, organize practices, and supervise travel and competitions.

You will mentor athletes, work with academic support services to promote excellence in academics, and ensure health and safety with athletic training staff. Travel coordination and compliance reporting are essential parts of the role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the intercollegiate softball program within NCAA/Horizon League guidelines.
  • Assist in development and coaching of student-athletes and high-quality athletes.
  • Organize and conduct practice sessions, conditioning, and sport-related workouts.
  • Provide coaching during home and away competitions; supervise student-athletes during travel.
  • Foster leadership, mentorship, and academic success among student-athletes and staff.
  • Coordinate with athletic training staff on athlete health and safety.
  • Arrange travel, campus visits, and communications with recruits, coaches, and parents.
  • Assist in travel arrangements and compliance reporting; communicate with relevant offices.
  • May drive or use university transportation for travel; support PR and fundraising activities.
  • Adhere to NCAA, Horizon League, and RMU rules; perform other duties as assigned.
