Job summary

Alpha-1 Aerospace in Dothan, AL seeks an experienced Rotary Wing Instructor Pilot for the USAF contract. The role covers daily instruction, including flight, academics, and sim training for military and government-sponsored pilots, under established standards.

The candidate should have a current FAA helicopter instructor rating with instrument rating, a DoD rotary wing instructor pilot background preferred, and strong compliance with USAF and FAR standards. US citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• FAA Certificated Commercial pilot, Helicopter with Instrument rating.
• FAA Certificated Flight Instructor Helicopter with Instrument rating (current).
• Graduate of US DoD rotary wing instructor pilot training (preferred).
• Experience as a U.S. Air Force helicopter instructor pilot preferred.
• Total flight time: 1,000 hrs; 500 hrs of turbine helicopter time; 75 hrs night flight.
• 500 hours of flight instructor time; taught instrument flight training.
• FAA Class 2 medical certificate (current).
• U.S. citizen due to government contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily live-flight, academic, and simulation instruction for USAF and other students.
• Participate in standardization and training programs at the CAE Dothan Training Center.
• Ensure compliance with USAF, FAR, and applicable standards.
• Contribute to quality management, safety programs, and process improvements.
• Coordinate examiner activities and support across the program.
• Present metrics on process performance and improvements.
