Summary

CAE is accepting resumes for rotary‑wing instructor pilots to train new student pilots enrolled in the United States Air Force Air Education and Training Commands, Introductory Flight Training - Rotary (IFT‑R) program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• The employee will conduct contact flight training and instrument familiarization in support of the USAF IFT‑R program.
• In coordination with the CAE IFT‑R Chief Pilot, Director of Quality Assurance, Standardization, and the USAF, CAE Instructor Pilots will be part of a full standardization and training program for the USAF program at the CAE Dothan Training Center.
• Assures compliance with applicable standards (i.e., USAF, FAR, etc.).
• Participates in the Quality Management System, quality procedures, and safety programs with their respective leads in the organization.
• Keeps current with changes and modifications to external standards.
• Participates in identifying and implementing strategies for compliance.
• Manages the standardization, evaluation, and examiner plan, including scheduling of internal and external audits, maintaining the tracking database, following up on deficiencies and reporting.
• Coordinates examiner activities across the program to ensure adequate support is provided.
• Interfaces with appropriate members of the program, customer, and CAE USA staff to proactively identify and address quality assurance issues and ensure all quality requirements are met.
• Interfaces with various departments, management, and staff to identify and execute process improvement opportunities.
• Conducts business in strict compliance with all corporate policies and procedures and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Presents metrics to measure process performance levels and the impact of process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• FAA-certified commercial pilot, Helicopter with an Instrument helicopter rating.
• FAA-certified Flight Instructor Helicopter with an Instrument Helicopter Instructor rating (current). Graduate of a US DoD formal Rotary Wing Instructor Pilot training program (preferred).
• Prior experience as a US Air Force Helicopter instructor pilot preferred.
• Total Flight Time – 1,000 hours (FAR 61.51) including 500 hours turbine helicopter time, 100 hours hooded instrument/flight simulator/air‑weather pilot time, and 75 hours night flying time.
• 500 hours of Flight Instructor time; experience teaching in primary flight training and in a military initial flight training course or FAA Part 61/Part 141 environments.
• Experience instructing students in instrument flight training.
• Must possess and maintain a current FAA Class 2 medical certificate.
• Must be able to work overtime, any shift, or day of the week as required.
• Highly motivated and self‑directed.
• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

• Associate of Science degree.
• Graduate of DoD helicopter instructor pilot course.
• Total Flight Time – 2,500 hours, with 1,000 hours helicopter instructor (any weight, category) and 1,500 hours helicopter turbine.

Security Responsibilities

• Must comply with all company security and data protection/use policies and procedures.
• Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials in any form.
• Shall not divulge information or afford access to other employees not having a need‑to‑know.
• All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company‑provided resources.
• Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds overhead.
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs and ladders into a simulator or airplane cockpit.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under the device.
• Must be able to detect odors or hear noises (e.g., bangs) or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and their surrounding environment.
