Job summary

McLeod Health in Florence, SC, is seeking a nationally certified EEG Technician to perform comprehensive neurodiagnostic testing, including routine and advanced EEG procedures, to support neurologists in diagnosing conditions. The role covers routine, ambulatory, and video EEG monitoring with attention to patient safety and comfort.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and EEG/neurodiagnostic experience, with ABRET R.EEG.T. certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in neurodiagnostic preferred
• National EEG certification (R.EEG.T.) through ABRET
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum one year of EEG or neurodiagnostic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive neurodiagnostic testing, including routine and advanced EEG procedures.
• Perform routine, ambulatory, and continuous video EEG monitoring.
• Conduct evoked potentials and nerve conduction studies as applicable.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort, providing clear explanations of procedures.
• Obtain and document relevant medical history and clinical information.
• Recognize and document clinically significant EEG abnormalities.
• Collaborate closely with neurologists, clinical staff, and intraoperative teams.
• Maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper calibration.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
• Assist in the management of database and report storage including striping procedures.
• Responsible for emergence on-calls as scheduled and per hospital policy.
