Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform high‑voltage testing and commissioning for critical electrical systems. The role requires NETA III/IV certification, 7+ years of hands-on HV testing, and strong interpretation of electrical diagrams.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification in good standing required.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards and protective relays.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret test results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on multi-discipline projects.
