Job summary

Vertiv ERS/HVM seeks a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing with NETA III/IV certification and 7+ years in HV testing. You’ll perform tests on up to 500kV systems, calibrate relays, and analyze results while mentoring junior techs. A valid driver’s license and up to 75% regional travel are required.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV Certification current and in good standing.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.
• Proficient with listed test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Strong understanding of protective relay schemes and coordination.
• Ability to read one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics and P&IDs.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; willing to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical to microprocessor-based).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance on transformers and switchgear.
• Interpret results and write comprehensive engineering reports with recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians; serve as technical lead on projects.
