Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) seeks a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high‑voltage systems up to 500kV. You will conduct studies, calibrate relays, analyze results, and prepare detailed reports, while mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III/IV certification in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.

Education

Power systems degree

NETA Level III/IV certification

Protection relay knowledge

Test equipment proficiency (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF)

Reading electrical diagrams (one-line, three-line, schematics, P&IDs)

Valid driver's license

Willingness to travel up to 75%
