Job summary

ERS in Boise, ID is seeking a Field Engineer – Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform high-voltage testing and maintenance on critical power systems. Travel up to 75% regionally/nationally with signing bonuses and competitive benefits, including 401(k) and comprehensive health coverage.

The role requires NETA III/IV certification, 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing, and proficiency with test equipment.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV Certification in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians and serve as technical lead on projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
