Job summary
Waste Pro is seeking an experienced Diesel Truck Technician to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical and hydraulic systems on heavy- and light-duty trucks. You may work with diesel, CNG, and alternative fuel systems.
You will follow Factory Service Manuals, complete DVIRs and repair orders, and communicate with managers and drivers. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and a strong sense of ethics and dependability.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of suspension inspection, diagnosis and repair.
- Knowledge of brake system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
- Knowledge of electrical system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
- Knowledge of hydraulic system inspection, diagnosis and repair.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools and reading service manuals.
- Ability to estimate time and materials for repairs.
- Ability to mentor assistants and shop helpers.
Responsibilities
- Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs repairs on equipment.
- Communicates with managers/drivers about vehicle issues.
- Completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Follows safety policies and maintains a clean work area.
- Uses vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes.
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Maintains high standard of ethics and dependability.
