Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) seeks Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial aviation from terrorism and other criminal threats. Marshals operate on flights and ground assignments, often with irregular schedules and international travel.

Applicants must meet strict eligibility: U.S. citizenship, age 21+, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem-solving, planning, organization, and effective written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain required firearms proficiency.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytical, and advisory activities.
