Job summary

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights from terrorism and other threats. Marshals work aboard domestic and international flights, travel frequently, and may receive assignments with limited notice.

This role requires discretion, strong judgment, physical readiness, and firearms proficiency. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements (citizenship, age, background, security clearance) and will undergo extensive training.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem-solving, planning, organization, and communication.
• A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A qualifying combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity, aircraft piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess situations and respond to threats with limited backup.
• Carry and maintain firearms proficiency.
• Conduct investigations, interviews, and advisory activities.
• Identify witnesses or suspects and make arrests when required.
• Participate in multi-agency operations with federal, state, and local law enforcement.
