Job summary

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial aviation against terrorism and other threats. Duties include working on domestic and international flights, carrying firearms, and conducting investigations with federal, state, and local partners.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 21, and able to obtain Top Secret clearance after a background check. Travel is frequent and assignments may be remote from usual postings.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national.
• Must be at least 21 years old when applying.
• Must pass a full background investigation and obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Carry and maintain firearms proficiency required for federal duties.
• Conduct investigations, interviews, and advisory activities as needed.
• Participate in multi-agency operations with federal, state and local partners.
