Job summary

The Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington seeks candidates for a Bassoon faculty position in the Woodwinds Department. The ideal candidate will have national and international recognition as a performer and pedagogue.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining a studio of undergraduate and graduate bassoon students, teaching studio and reed making classes, and coaching chamber ensembles.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in music is required, or an equivalent of outstanding professional experience will also be considered.
• Evidence of broad professional experience and ability to work with gifted university students is expected.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a studio of undergraduate and graduate bassoon students.
• Teach bassoon studio classes and reed making classes.
• Coach chamber ensembles and participate in recruitment and auditions.
• Participate in departmental meetings, faculty recitals, outreach, and service on committees.
