Job summary

Illinois Nursing Academy is seeking a BNATP Instructor to deliver comprehensive classroom and clinical training for the Basic Nurse Assistant Training Program in Machesney Park, IL. You will teach theory, supervise clinical skills, and prepare students for state certification exams.

The ideal candidate holds an RN or LPN license, has at least two years of nursing or CNA experience, and can engage and motivate students while using educational technology and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current RN or LPN license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CNA or in a related nursing role.
• Train the Trainer Course completion required.
• Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate students.
• Proficient with educational software and teaching technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state regulations and curriculum.
• Deliver lectures on nursing topics and patient care.
• Provide hands-on clinical skills training (hygiene, vital signs, mobility).
• Assess student performance via quizzes, exams, and practical demos.
• Offer feedback and support to help students succeed.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and progress records.
• Ensure training equipment and supplies are ready for use.
• Stay updated on nursing education and healthcare practices.
• Assist in curriculum development and revision as needed.
• Comply with state and federal CNA training regulations.
