Job summary

Manor Vail Lodge in Vail, CO seeks a Banquet Event Manager to oversee flawless on-site execution of catering, banquet, and conference events and lead the banquet team from pre-conference to post-event.

You will act as the on-site point of contact, coordinate with the Catering & Conference Services Manager, and ensure timely, accurate execution across all event components. A strong leader with hospitality experience is needed to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management preferred; 3-5 years of banquet, catering, or hotel/resort event operations experience, including at least 2 years directly supervising banquet or event service staff.
• Proven ability to lead a team through live, fast-moving events with strong organizational skills and real-time problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with group leaders, staff, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Deliver flawless, thoughtfully presented execution of every catering, banquet, and conference event.
• Serve as the group's on-site point person, meeting group contacts and remaining primary contact during the event; lead post-conference meetings.
• Review all Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for accuracy before execution.
• Lead banquet staff, coordinate staffing and payroll sign-off; manage tip pool.
• Coordinate on-site room sets, AV needs, and vendor coordination with culinary team on timing and presentation.
• Maintain event schedules, signage, and billing; use Delphi catering software; identify upsell opportunities.
• Attend meetings and support other departments when needed.
