Family and Children Services, Division of is seeking an Eligibility Specialist Supervisor for the Right from the Start Medicaid (RSM) unit. This role reports to an OFI administrator and location is determined by the Unit Manager, with telework considered depending on the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 4 years in customer contact and 1 year in a lead/supervisory role.
• Experience as Eligibility Specialist 2/3 or Gateway Eligibility System trained preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision and support to assigned team/unit of Eligibility Specialists.
• Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of services to achieve identified outcomes.
• Ensures agency compliance with policies, documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Develops and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within units and with other agencies and providers.
• Assess staff performance and provide ongoing development and training.
• Interviews, hires, directs, trains, and evaluates employees' job performance; recommends disciplinary actions.

Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Office of Family Independence (OFI) is seeking candidates for the positions of Eligibility Specialist Supervisor in the Right from the Start Medicaid (RSM) unit. These positions report to an Economic Support Consultant Supervisor (OFI Administrator). The location of these positions will be determined by the Unit Manager with consideration being given to the incumbent’s place of residence.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision and support to assigned team/unit of Eligibility Specialists.
• Analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of services provided to customers in addition to assigned programmatic responsibilities to ensure the identified outcome measures are achieved.
• Ensures agency compliance with policies, appropriate documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Develops and encourages a cooperative team-oriented environment within units(s) and with other agencies and providers.
• Assess assigned staff performance and provide ongoing development and training.
• Interviews, hires, directs, trains. and evaluates employees job performance; recommends employee disciplinary and discharge actions as appropriate.
• Leads and administers a comprehensive system of customer support and public assistance.
• Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED AND four (4) year of job-related customer contact/interaction experience AND one (1) year in a lead worker, team lead, or supervisory role. OR One (1) year of experience at the lower level Eligibility Specialist 3.

Preferred Qualifications / Division Specific

• Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:
• Two (2) years of experience as an Eligibility Specialist 2 and/ or 3 with GA DFCS.
• Trained AND worked in two (2) OR three (3) OFI programs.
• Must be Gateway Eligibility System trained.
