Job summary

Jefferson County is seeking an Eligibility Specialist Lead to determine eligibility for Adult Financial and Medical Assistance, Food Assistance, Colorado Works, and related programs. The role requires interpreting complex rules and serving as a CBMS expert, with training responsibilities and team guidance.

This hybrid position offers 40 scheduled hours weekly, with 5/8s or 4/10s options, and a compensation range of $28.90–$30.34 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ work-related experience in eligibility or related field.
• One year of determining eligibility for Medicaid, Food Assistance, Colorado Works and/or Adult Financial programs is preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and Outlook; CBMS knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine eligibility for multiple programs and apply state, county, and federal rules.
• Provide technical guidance and interpret program rules to staff.
• Conduct QA reviews and provide actionable feedback for improvement.
• Train, mentor, and support staff to strengthen program knowledge.
• Assist customers with forms and documentation and resolve service issues.
