Job summary

Lerch Bates Inc. is seeking an Elevator Consultant to join its Vertical Transportation team in New York. You will lead projects involving elevators, escalators, moving walks, and modernization programs, delivering expert technical solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

This role focuses on building owner and architect relationships, project management, and client service, with opportunities across design consulting, field work, and construction administration in a 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in elevator, vertical transportation, or related industry.
• Experience with elevator modernization, maintenance audits, inspections, design, or construction administration is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vertical transportation systems and applicable codes and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage vertical transportation projects from planning through completion, including modernization, equipment assessments, maintenance audits, inspections, and construction administration.
• Coordinate scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communication for quality execution.
• Provide technical recommendations and guidance on elevators, escalators, moving walks, and related systems.
• Prepare reports, updates, and recommendations for clients and internal teams.
• Travel as needed to support project and client requirements.
