Job summary

Lerch Bates is seeking an Elevator Consultant to join our Vertical Transportation team in Austin. You will support projects involving elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and modernization programs, delivering expert advice to owners, architects, and contractors.

The role emphasizes project management, client development, and field work across a range of services from design to construction administration. ESOP ownership and extensive benefits are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in elevator/vertical transportation industry or consulting.
• Experience with elevator modernization, maintenance audits, inspections, or design/construction administration preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vertical transportation systems and applicable codes.
• Excellent communication and project management skills; ability to coordinate with diverse teams.
• Willingness to travel as needed for projects and client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Manage vertical transportation projects from planning through completion, including modernization projects and audits.
• Coordinate scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communication.
• Provide technical recommendations related to elevators, escalators, and moving walks.
• Prepare project updates, findings, and client-facing communications.
• Travel to support project requirements and site visits.
