Job summary

General Mills in Kansas City is hiring for a General Production Associate. Starting pay is $25.62/hour with progression to $25.91 after trainings. The role operates on 8-hour shifts and requires willingness to work overtime, weekends, nights and holidays as needed at a 24/7 production plant.

The position supports grain handling, sanitation, and equipment maintenance with opportunities for cross-training and career growth across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• At least 2 years of mechanical/technical experience in manufacturing or related industry.
• Able to work 8-hour shifts including overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Able to communicate effectively in English with coworkers and supervisors.
• Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty conditions and around food allergens.
• Ability to follow safety, quality and grooming standards, including use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines and use PPE and lockout procedures.
• Position railcars using Shuttle Wagon and unload grain into receiving pit.
• Enter grain, truck, and railcar data into the Unified Grain System (UGS) and verify accuracy.
• Perform sanitation tasks per Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
• Monitor equipment and perform routine maintenance checks on Shuttle Wagon and related gear.
• Complete minor repairs or generate work orders as needed.
• Provide coverage for Spouter and assist in training new employees.
• Support other areas of the department as assigned.
