The Department of Business & Industry's Division of Industrial Relations seeks a Safety Specialist, Elevator to inspect elevators, escalators, and related equipment across Nevada. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, occupational safety/health, construction management, or related field with two years elevator-related experience.
- Associate degree plus three years of relevant experience; or high school plus four years in related work.
- One year of Nevada State service as Safety Representative or QEI certification is acceptable.
- Equivalent education/experience combination may qualify.
Responsibilities
- Inspect elevators, escalators, moving walks, dumbwaiters, and related equipment.
- Prepare inspection reports and issue notices or citations as needed.
- Investigate accidents/complaints and determine corrective actions.
- Provide technical assistance and respond to inquiries on code requirements.
- Performs related duties and may train new staff.
