Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an experienced Elevator Maintenance Mechanic to join the Elevator Shop. You will inspect, maintain and repair elevators across campus and off-site facilities under supervision, with at least 3 years of related experience.

Ideal candidates will have strong electrical, mechanical and hydraulic knowledge, precise record keeping, attention to safety, and the ability to work in confined spaces. Day shift availability is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in maintenance, inspection and repair of commercial elevators.
• Experience in healthcare, academic, or research environments preferred.
• Strong electrical, mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs and inspections on commercial elevators.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems in electric brakes, motors, switches, variable frequency drives.
• Cleans, lubricates and adjusts relays, controls, door operators and elevator pits as needed.
• Repair and/or replace faulty components to return elevator to fully operational status.
• Assist Sr. Elevator Mechanics in ensuring machinery conforms to building safety codes and equipment safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
