Job summary

Schindler Elevator Corporation in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN is seeking a Field Superintendent for Existing Installation to lead field crews, ensure quality and safety, and coordinate customer service with sales.

The role involves communicating effectively, staffing decisions, and continuous process improvements. The position emphasizes strong leadership in elevator/escalator environments, collaboration across departments, and adherence to regulatory and company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent in relevant field.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience.
• Knowledge of elevators and escalators to manage field personnel.
• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Ability to mobilize internal resources to satisfy customers while minimizing disruption.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance meets Area and Company quality standards and contract requirements.
• Implement customer and Company requirements for quality and safety for each project.
• Meet EEO/AA requirements per Area/State/Federal rules.
• Support sales staff in estimating service orders, scheduling and executing orders, and resolving complaints (sales role possible).
• Manage project audit to ensure quality, completeness and safety.
• Develop manpower selection, training and performance appraisal programs.
• Implement route management to standardize preventive maintenance and control manpower.
• Foster teamwork and a commitment to quality improvement.
• Evaluate tooling needs to support productivity improvements.
• Maintain proactive relationships with local IUEC business agent.
• Inform Area management of competitor activity related to pricing and manpower.
