Job summary

Gateway-Community-Service-Board seeks a Child & Adolescent Therapist for the Georgia Apex Program in Evans County Public Schools in Metter, GA. Entry level, full-time position providing mental health services in a school setting.

The therapist works with school staff, conducts intake and assessments, develops treatment plans, and delivers individual, family and group counseling using evidence-based interventions while maintaining confidentiality and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in psychology or related field.
• Master's degree in counseling or social work preferred.
• Georgia licensure (LAMFT/LAPC/LMSW or LMFT/ LPC/ LCSW) preferred.
• License eligibility in Georgia if not licensed.
• Strong interest in child and adolescent mental health.
• Comfortable working in a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides school-based mental health therapy to children and adolescents in the elementary, middle and/or high school setting.
• Work closely with school counselors, teachers, and other school staff.
• Conduct intake, screening, assessment, and referral of clients as appropriate.
• Based on the assessment, establish individual treatment plans and update as needed.
• Provide individual, family and/or group counseling using evidenced-based interventions.
• Evaluate progress toward goals and monitor services.
• Maintain confidentiality per policy and procedure.
• Coordinate discharge planning and interdisciplinary team with care.
• Document all services in EHR and ensure timely notes.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Family Studies, Sociology, Social Work or other related field

Master’s degree in counseling, social work or related human services field

Associate license (LAMFT, LAPC, LMSW) or full licensure (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) in Georgia

Must be license eligible in Georgia if not associate or fully licensed
