Job summary

UCP of Central Florida is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support a K-5 classroom at the Osceola Campus in Kissimmee, FL. The role involves assisting the Teacher with lesson delivery, materials setup, and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities include documenting student progress, applying behavior management techniques, and participating in professional development. The position also covers caretaking duties and ensuring compliance with educational and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have basic classroom support experience and ability to assist in planning instructional materials.
• Experience documenting academic progress through observations and data collection.
• Ability to implement behavior techniques and classroom management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
• Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
• Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.
• Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
• Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
• Perform Paraprofessional duties in his/her absence.
• Keep up on best and promising practices for education through professional development.
• Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed.
• Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
• Attend required trainings, meetings and events.
• Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
