Job summary

UCP of Central Florida is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support a classroom of elementary students with a focus on individualized education and inclusive practices. The role involves implementing lesson plans, assisting with materials, and contributing to progress monitoring under teacher supervision.

The position requires at least a GED or high school diploma, and experience in an elementary setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to implement lesson plans and support instructional groups.
• Plans and develops instructional materials under teacher direction.
• Administers assessments and tracks student progress with authentic observations.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in implementing lesson plans and managing classroom activities.
• Support in planning and setting up instructional materials and resources.
• Document student progress through observations and data collection.
• Apply behavior management techniques consistently and monitor classroom behavior.
• Perform paraprofessional duties in the absence of the teacher.
• Attend trainings, meetings and parent/student communications.
• Assist with caretaking duties and maintain classroom cleanliness as needed.
