Qualifications

• AA degree or ParaPro certification required or 2 years of college.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field preferred but not required.
• Experience with elementary-aged students in educational or support roles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing instructional plans and adapting materials to meet diverse needs.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students requiring additional assistance in academic or behavior.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and administration as needed.
• Facilitate a safe and nurturing school environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
• Support the social and emotional well-being of students by promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution strategies.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions, and assist in the evaluation of student performance.
• Assist administration with various jobs.
• Assist with the organization and supervision of school activities, recess, events, and field trips.
