Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in an inclusive school setting near Ithaca, NY. This full-time, onsite contract starts August 2026 and offers a meaningful opportunity to impact young learners within a collaborative educational team.

In this role you’ll manage an elementary caseload, develop and implement IEPs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary staff.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Special Education Certification (Required).
• Previous experience working in inclusive classroom environments.
• Demonstrated ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Enthusiasm for teaching elementary students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction to students in an inclusive, elementary setting.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to design and implement effective IEPs.
• Foster a positive and adaptive learning atmosphere for all students.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Engage in regular communication with parents, team members, and school personnel.
