Job summary

Webster Central School District is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher for elementary students at Dewitt Road Elementary School. The position runs November 2–30, 2026, with a closing date of November 1, 2026, and requires NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities 1-6 or K-12.

The teacher will implement specialized instruction across settings, develop and monitor IEPs, and collaborate with families and staff to ensure access to the standards and student goals.

Qualifications

• Must be NYS Certified in Students with Disabilities 1-6 or K-12 Special Education.
• Knowledge of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, assessment and diagnosis.
• Experience with IEP development and related services is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with educators, service providers, families and administrators.

Responsibilities

• Provides specialized instruction per each student's IEP across settings (consultant teacher, resource room, co‑teaching, self‑contained).
• Develops and coordinates annual IEP plans with present levels, needs, goals and services.
• Collaborates with students, families, professionals and community providers regarding student needs.
• Provides consultation on classroom adaptations, accommodations, equipment, and behavior plans.
• Maintains accurate student records and progress reports; communicates progress to parents.
• Participates in multidisciplinary teams and ongoing professional learning.
