Qualifications

• Must have valid Illinois teaching license and LBS 1 certification.
• Ability to meet licensing standards of state agencies.
• 3+ years experience in special education classroom teaching.
• Supervisory experience preferred; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement educational activities and programs aligned with IEP goals and age appropriateness.
• Plan daily and weekly schedules for each student.
• Collect and analyze IEP goal data and adjust goals as needed.
• Prepare assessments and present levels of performance for IEP meetings and goals.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate classroom lead teacher aides and education specialists.
• Maintain classroom information books, student program files, and emergency packets.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and programs.
• Model professional behavior and maintain a respectful learning environment.
