Anticipated Special Education Teacher – Multiple Disabilities Classroom at Elms Elementary School in New Jersey is seeking a certified elementary Special Education teacher for a 10/15/2026 start date.

The role requires delivering direct, differentiated instruction for lower-functioning learners, with autistic students, plus excellent communication, organization, collaboration and classroom management.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be certified to teach elementary Special Education.
• Experience working with students with multiple disabilities and/or autism preferred.
• Direct instructional experience working with autistic students, students with significant cognitive needs, and lower-functioning students preferred.
• Strong understanding of delivering direct, differentiated, and individualized instruction for lower-functioning learners and students with complex cognitive needs.
• Excellent communication, organization, collaboration, and classroom-management skills.
• Patience, flexibility, creativity, and a student-centered approach.
