Job summary

KIPP Columbus is seeking a highly qualified Special Educator (SLC CC) to join the Diverse Learning Team. You will deliver specially designed instruction in small groups, serve students with low-incidence disabilities, and collaborate with paraprofessionals to support inclusive education.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and an Ohio Special Education license or a pathway to certification, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and anti-racist instructional practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Current Ohio Special Education license or commitment to certification by start date.
• Experience collaborating with paraprofessionals and with ETR/IEP processes.
• Experience writing IEPs, progress monitoring, and data collection.
• Knowledge of Ohio Extended Learning Standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement IEPs for students with low-incidence disabilities.
• Adapt and modify curriculum for diverse disabilities.
• Provide small-group or one-on-one instruction.
• Differentiate instruction to meet learning needs.
• Use Universal Design for Learning strategies.
• Serve as liaison between students, families, and service providers.
• Ensure accommodations and modifications are in place.
• Participate in IEP/MTSS meetings.
• Implement Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Assess academic/behavioral progress and maintain progress reports.
