Job summary

Texas Leadership SA Elementary School in San Angelo is seeking a Special Education Teaching Assistant to support instructional programs and assist in supervising students with IEP needs under the direction of a certified teacher.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and TEA certification eligibility, with experience working with children. This is a full-time position on campus with opportunities to contribute to student success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• TEA certification in the area assigned (eligible).
• Willing to be a positive team member.
• Work well with children served by Special Education.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of general office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials to support learning objectives and IEP goals.
• Assists students in accessing electronic communicators and related tools for curriculum.
• Assists with transfers, transportation, and transitioning around campus.
• Supports lunch and pre-lunch activities for feeding needs.
• Attends meetings and communicates progress to supervising staff.
• Maintains safety and positive learning environment during supervision.
