Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services in Illinois is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to join their dynamic Alternative Education team. With a starting salary of $60,000 to $80,000 based on experience, you'll create meaningful, personalized learning experiences for elementary students with diverse learning needs.

In this role, you will lead instructional processes, maintain an inclusive environment, and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual educational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field of study.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator (PEL) credential.
• Prior experience in alternative education and/or behavioral health program setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Create an inclusive, collaborative environment involving students, parents, and colleagues.
• Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies.
