Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
• Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the students.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates objectives.
• Prepares for classes and provides written evidence of preparation.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Implements district philosophy and performance expectations.
• Assesses students’ progress and communicates with parents as needed.
• Maintains records as required by law and district policy.
• Diagnoses learning challenges and consults with district specialists.
• Protects students, equipment, and facilities.
• Follows district code of conduct and classroom rules.
• Plans and supervises assignments for paraprofessionals and writes evaluations.
• Maintains ongoing professional growth per district requirements.
• Participates in teacher evaluation and district meetings.
• Participates in school activities and district decisions about budget and curriculum.
• Strives to maintain professional competence.
