Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times.
• Plans a program of study to meet students’ needs, interests, and abilities.
• Creates a learning environment conducive to student growth and engagement.
• Guides learning toward district curriculum goals and communicates clear objectives.
• Prepares for classes and document preparation as required by contract.
• Uses varied instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Implements district educational philosophy and objectives.
• Assesses student progress and provides reports; communicates with parents.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Diagnoses learning challenges and seeks district specialist assistance as needed.
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
• Follows classroom code of conduct and enforces rules fairly.
• Plans and supervises paraprofessionals and provides written evaluations.
• Maintains ongoing professional growth to satisfy district requirements.
• Active participation in teacher evaluation process as per contract.
• Attends building and district meetings for communication and decision making.
• Participates in school activities in alignment with contract terms.
• Contributes to district and building decisions on budget, facilities, curriculum, and wellbeing.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
