Job summary

Jefferson County Schools is seeking an Elementary Teacher to provide instruction aligned with WV standards and learning objectives. You will plan curriculum, integrate technology, and collaborate with staff to support student growth in a 200-day academic year.

The role requires an active WV teaching certificate, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with special education and intervention staff to meet diverse student needs.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content and curriculum.
• Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and assess Jefferson County Schools' curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Integrate 21st century technology skills in instruction.
• Plan and implement inclusion with students in special education.
• Design and participate in co-curricular activities and field trips as assigned.
• Administer formative and summative assessments.
• Plan and implement tiered instruction for reading and math.
• Address IEPs and 504 Plans as needed and revise when required.
• Collaborate with interventionists and share data to support targeted interventions.
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom climate and professional conduct.
