Job summary

Jefferson County Schools is seeking an Elementary Teacher to provide instruction aligned with West Virginia standards for elementary students. The teacher will plan, deliver, and assess lessons, support inclusion of students with special needs, and collaborate with families and colleagues to promote student success.

The role requires a valid WV teaching certificate, strong communication skills, and the ability to implement core curricula and assessments in a safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specialization and grade levels.
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content and curriculum.
• Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and assess Jefferson County Schools' curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Implement 21st Century technology skills in instruction.
• Plan and implement inclusion with special education students.
• Administer formative and summative assessments.
• Coordinate or support co-curricular activities and field trips.
• Address IEPs and 504 Plans and revise as needed.
• Maintain professional conduct and collaborate with staff and families.
