Job summary

Jefferson County Schools seeks an Elementary Teacher to provide instruction aligned with WV Content Standards and support learners across general and special education settings.

The role emphasizes planning and implementing inclusive instruction, collaboration with families and staff, and using data to guide instruction. Teachers must meet state licensing requirements and adhere to district policies.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary content and curriculum.
• Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with students, peers, administrators, and parents

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and assess curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Incorporate 21st Century technology skills.
• Plan and implement inclusion with special education students.
• Direct or support designated co-curricular activities and field trips as assigned.
• Administer approved formative and/or summative assessments.
• Plan and implement tiered instruction for reading and math.
• Address and implement students' IEPs and 504 Plans; revise as needed.
• Adhere to grading and achievement policies; maintain professional responsibilities.
• Collaborate with interventionists; share data to support targeted interventions.
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom climate and relationships with students, staff, and community.
• May supervise aides, student teachers, and volunteers to enhance learning environments.
